It's funny growing old and watching these young people go to school and come out, thinking they know it all and they're going to make it. Like you said, the apprentice is the best way to learn any trade. There are many time saving tricks they don't teach in school that a journeyman can teach, while on the job. I started out in the trailer repair business and moved over to auto mechanic. Working in the field is where you find out if it's right for you. After turning a wrench for 6 months. I went to school for auto technician while I worked in the shop. It turned out to benefit me as well as my employer. 30 years later I'm sitting at home bored. I still work on everything from the house to my boat and everything in-between. The feeling of accomplishment is what drives me. Do the job right and seeing the smile on the customers face is what I miss. I'm going to show you what I can do and if you like what you see. I'll be there to help you out. You never to old to learn something. Plus getting to fish and ride in someone else boat is always a plus. Since were both up in years I have a few ideas that could be a major benefit to the shop.
