Hopefully not in your boat ?
This is one of the most common problem causing boats to sink and can result in loss of life in cold weather
No only do leafs stain interiors they can decompose and with a little help from some oil and grease cause a fire
But the most common problem is fouling bilge pumps Pump cant pump water in a emergency Leafs will at the very least burn up a bilge pump
The last thing you need when the water is cold and some how you take on a wave in cold weather and you bilge pump is barly pumping any thing
Don’t be the guy that lets the leafs in the boat when you see them get them our immediately it only takes a couple to slow the bilge pump way down a couple more ruins the pump
Inspect you bilge pump regularly don’t be the guy that turns the pump on in the drive way and if it makes noise its OK ? of course this is better than not testing at all but its not enough take the pump out annually inspect for fishing line vacuum out the bilge area where the pump goes and remember get the leafs out of the boat as soon as you see them . if they make it under the floor they may never come out or worse they may foul you bilge pump in a emergency situation
Test your bilge pump by adding a few inches of water to the bottom of the boat make sure the pumps pups it out fast
if a bilge pump is real hard to get at it is often much faster and easy to just all another one and make it easy to service and check
for some reason often bilge pumps are hard to get at
if you can ge at it you can always call us we can help you with this before you have a serious problem in the mean time
keep the leafs on the lawn not in the boat!
The new pump will get a custom bracket on it you still wont be able to see the pump when installed but you can make a bracket so that it bolts to a place allowing easy access remove the bolts and then pull the whole bracket pump and wire hoses out where it all can be easily serviced
We will also be installing a second fully automatic pump easily accessible from the inside of boat
