What size Honda on there? Could you still add a kicker?

Another question: Does this changing I/O to outboard require so much setback? Does the setback make the boat run better or what? Would seem to really change the front-to-back balance of a boat when you're trolling. I'm really interested in this stuff. Dave Mull

130 Honda used bracket used yes you need the set back to allow room to tilt motor up and not hit transom with power head yes if mounted properly you get a boost in power from the set back it works kind of like this the weight of the boat as it passed over the water pushes the water down storing the energy as the boat passes the energy is released in the form of a wave the top 8" or so of water is accelerating as it leaves the stern end of the transom if you can get one blade of the propeller in the accelerated water you get a huge boost in fuel eff ency and power utilization like a tail wind on a air plane yes a kicker can also be mounted but why? these 130s troll down like you might never be live until you had one the extra weight of a kicker is more of a problem than a big help as in balance of the boat with a kicker also would need trim tabs where with just the main motor the tabs would be optional this was a build on a budget so a kicker was not needed this one trolled down to 2.5 with out a stern wind and wot in the low 40s high 30s nice cruise around 30 ended up being a really sweet set up better than planned the budget was the bigger consideration and to have it turn out so well made every one extremely happy !!
