I have come to this conclushion
if you are going to leave any boat in the water for more than a couple days
best put a good bottom paint on is and put in on properly
one of the biggest reasons is often over looked
wear and tear on the motor or motors !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its 30 % cheaper to put the bottom paint on before the bottom is so bad it has to be stripped and sand plasted it will be a lot cheaper and better on the long run to just put the bottom paint on or keep the boat out of the water when not in use

To answer the question more than a couple people have called and asked this question so I figured I post a answer here Q; what's bottom paint got to do with your engine The worse that can happen is over heat and completely ruin the engine more commonly it will burn exhaust valves in a modern 4 stroke motor The least it will do is waste a whole lot of gas you don't have to bottom paint or keep a boat out of the water if there is some other way to keep the bottom of the boat clean and slick
