thanks day off I have been watching this looks like all that's left is to weld the float tanks on the starboard side and pump them and its time to float it off to the scrap yard what a great estimate to the ability of engineering I have been to the island of rotan a few times and been watching this old girl just rot away was wondering if this is what was going to happen to the wrecked cruise ship here is a picture of the last visit her back has broken and the aft section has dropped also a lot more plate panels missing

Now that they have righted the ship, what are the next steps? Thanks for sharing this.

I was checking on it today apparently the Italian government has taken over the ship to do some crime scene investigating and possibly recover the missing bodies they will have control of the ship at least a month the news feed said after they are done they will turn it back over to the American salvage co they then will have to attach the big float tanks (weld) to the starboard side to match the ones they already attached to the port side They will then pump out the tanks and float it and tow it away to the scrap yard this is expected to happen next spring or summer
