I am making up a copper wire trolling combo. I have a rod with regular guides on it. Is it worth buying one of these twillies to replace the top eye? I am going to use 40# braid for the backing and would troll with the wire completely in the water. Would the copper wire eat a ceramic wire tip and the guides? Any help would be great.

copper rods have larger stainless steel guides a swivel tip would not be the best choice yes copper and braid will eat up most guides

I have had a lot of different brands rods after being reluctant to buy the shimano talora because of the price 59-69 bucks a rod i had a friend break a rod on my boat he replaced it with talora couldnt beat the price on the first one but after two seasons using that rod started replacing a few a year until its the only thing on my boat i think they are a superior rod and only a couple bucks more than the bargain rods when you consider they last a lot longer special pricing for VIP club calumet marine fishing team members

Thanks for the reply and I will look at them. How does a person get into this swanky establishment you speak of, the VIP club? I hope you don't need a coat and a tie!
