WHEN USING DRY SALT PACKED HERRING ITS VERY IMPORTANT DO NOT PUT HERRING OIL ON THE BAIT UNTIL THE LARGE CHUNK SALT IS RINSED OFF EITHER WITH LAKE WATER WELL WATER OR DISTILLED WATER YOU CAN EVEN USE THE WATER FROM A DEHUMIDIFIER IF YOU LIKE JUST DON'T USE CLORINE CITY TAP WATER A LARGE AMOUNT OF SALT MIXED WITH PURE HERRING OIL CREATES A ACIDIC SUBSTANCE THAT CAN MINIMIZE THE CENT EFFECT OF THE HERRING RINSING THE BULK OF THE SALT OFF BEFORE ADDING HERRING OIL HAS PROVEN TO BE MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE ADDING OIL RITE TO THE TUBS OF SALTED HERRING IS A MISTAKE I MADE IN THE PAST FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHAT I WAS DOING WRONG YOU CAN SOAK YOUR HERRING IN OIL IF YOU WANT JUST REMEMBER TWO THINGS RINSE SALT OFF FIRST THEN WHEN THE SALT IS GONE DON'T LET THE HERRING GET OVER 50 DEG. A BACTERIA STARTS GROWING AT THAT POINT THE HERRING IS SPOILING AND SOON IS USELESS

I had a opportunity to talk to a guy with a chemical engineering degree and the topic always seem to end up on fishing and the conversion ended up on salt salt levels whats in brine herring oils we even talked about apple juices what came out of all of this? #1 when salt is mixed in concentration with meat it becomes a very effective natural preservative but salt is also a root substance in a lot of chemical reactions #2 salt at a concentrated amount mixed with pure herring oil will trigger a chemical reaction creating a alcaline to a acidic this would not be the best choice to attract fish #3 small amounts of clorine and salt can cause a similar chemical reaction "WHY NOT CITY WATER?" apple juce came in when we where talking about herring oil when examining the chemical composition of any substance there are diffent content levels that make them react completely different like apple juice for example apple juice fresh squeezed has a lot of biomass in it it requires refrigeration of will quickly spoil and begin a distilling process creating a acohol content in many cases distilled/processed apple juice has no bio mass and does not require refrigeration you wont find it in the refrigeration department at the super market whats this mean pure herring oil needs no refrigeration wont spoil and has a unlimited shelf life herring oil; that is not completely processes will spoil and become rancid STINK like rotten fish wont invite fish to your bait this is the result of yet another chemical reaction
when we consider all factors and tweak the little things we have better success on the water on a more consistent basis i think the most important factor on any meat presentation is getting the meat to spin properly pay very close attention to how you bait is acting in the water next to the boat before you send it down play closer attention to the hot bait that working try to emulate the action it is showing the fish and click the light bulb lite up and its GAME ON!!
SO I GUESS CHEMISTRY CAN BE A EFECTIVE FISHING TOOL???
"BEER IS ANOTHER GOOD EXAMPLE OF A CHEMICAL REACTION"

well then im going to stop using water out of the tap. maybe it will double the fish we get on meat i can only hope...
