took the boat and wife to the joe for a day of fishing yesterday.got there about 9;30 and headed down the river.got to the mouth and looked like everybody was fishing the mud line out front and to the north.so we headed out deep in front of cook.we set lines in 150 fow and headed wsw.had 10 fish to the back of the boat before i could get all 6 lines in the water. we stayed right in a 1 mile stretch and pounded them.by the end of the day we had 6 kings,2 steelies,2 lakers and 31 hos to the back of the boat, threw them all back to bite another day.i sure like the back of the new boat ,make it easy to release the fish without netting or brining them in the boat.we took our fish on riggers with spoons set 100 bk at 25 and 38 dwn and spoons on lead core 1,2,3 and 5 colors.this is the first time i have ever had the entire lake to my self out of st joe,we didnt see another boat till we broke 60 fow what a great way to spend the day with the wife.

Thanks for the report jay!! this is exactly why i want to move into this area
the fishing is usually decent close to the mouth about all year round
but the offshore program up there 10 - 20 miles out is absolutely fenominal more bigger fish And then when the top water temp hits 50 + and the calumet city chicken?with the fatty strips Holy CRAP look out bro better not mess around with lite line i hope to pull a 30+ out of this area this year i know they are there it just holds fish all year and bigger fish late july
seems a lot of the the guys up there feel no need to move off shore
they just don't know what they are missing
