got on the water a little late and had all the lines set by about 9:30 in about 230 fow.not much going on so we angled back in.when we hit 170 fow it was on.in just over an hour we went 9 for 12,8 kings and a laker that went back.meat rig 130 dwn on a rigger, flounder pounder on a rigger 70 dwn, wire diver with meat 250,wire diver 200 bk with a mag raptor,10 color with a new uv SS and a 5 color with a blue mango all took fish.by then the wind had whiped the waves up to 2to4s and the lines were sining,we decide it was time to make the 9 mile run back to manistee.all the kings were 8# up to about 16#

Great Job! It looks like they were hitting on every thing. I just hope the season keeps up this way. As for the trip back, I bet the new boat made an enjoyable ride back. I looked at NOAA weather report yesterday around noon. It indicated 17 knts out of the north with 1' waves. I just knew there was no way that there were only 1' waves.

Fished 200-220' FOW 6:30 - 10 AM, 4 for 5 nice kings. Only one rigger hit @110' on spoon, one on wire dipsy back 200' w/ meat, two on 300 copper, and one on 350 copper both with spoons on them. Beautiful morning on the water with my neighbor. The new launch traffic pattern is not good! Jay - wish I'd known/seen you were going to be out there. I didn't see you, cause I definately would have known it was you! _________________ Kevin Dent Cadillac, Mi Port: Mobile

Jay, When will you start using slip? I do not normally come to Manistee due to crowds. After this spring fishing I'll fish Arcadia to Frankfort. That is unless I hear good things from you! ;D
If weather cooperates, I may be in Manistee this Sat. AM. Will you be fishing also?

Jay, you might think about fishing New Buffalo after you leave Frank. Also, since there are three of us in Arcadia, Jason, Kevin, and myself. We might think about fishing out of Arcadia some weekend when we are up there. I try to avoid weekends because of the crowds. I fish Manistee only during the week. I know you are seldom up during the week.
We'll have to get Jason to trade his Thompson on Hewescraft. I know he loves his boat.
Reading yours and Kevin report about boat ramp traffic at the Manistee boat ramp might even slow me down from there. I am surprised that they could screw it up so much. It was pretty even previously before the new pattern during the week. Bob

the whole deal down there sucks.they do t have the docks pushed in very far, they said the cement slabs are to short now due to low water levels.it makes it hard to get the boat on the trailer.most of our fishing will be sun mon and tue, those are the wifes days off.
