from the look of the fish you did not do to bad
thats not a uncommon problem with big johns and the reason why some riigger makers have up sized the mounting bolts from the 1/4 20 to the 5/16 mounting bolts the bolts are usually ok but the aluminum thread its stressed to the max and aluminum often is inconstant quality/strength these bolts and attaching point need to be on the daily check list with the cannon ball clinchers / swivel snaps more often then that if you are tapping the bottom for Lakers i left a rigger and pole on the clay pies out of Racine in much the same manner learning that lesson. O ya we had some fun and had good fishing the strange thing about the rigger is we were in 70 fow and the rigger was only down 40ft we didn't hit bottom or anything it just snapped clean off!
